# Open licenses and attribution

**Author: Aleksandar Popovic** — [alekpopovic](https://github.com/alekpopovic).
Copyright (c) 2026 Aleksandar Popovic, for the original project materials.

This is an openly licensed book and companion project. The following grants
apply to the complete original project, including material within the bundled
Claude Code archive. No original lesson, exercise, answer, or visual asset is
reserved for purchasers.

| Material | License | Notice |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Book prose, all Markdown lessons, exercises, answers, documentation, publishing copy, natural-language prompts | CC BY 4.0 | LICENSE-CONTENT.md |
| Original branding, logos, cover and architecture diagram | CC BY 4.0 | LICENSE-CONTENT.md |
| Original companion and build code, tests, SQL, shell commands, code snippets embedded in prose, JSON/TOML/YAML/configuration examples | MIT | LICENSE-CODE |
| PDF/EPUB/HTML and Leanpub exports | Same licenses as their contents | Both license files |
| Bundled Claude Code pack and production-design extracts | Same prose/code split as above | Included notices and LICENSE files |
| DejaVu font files or embedded font subsets | Their upstream font licenses | branding/FONT_NOTICE.txt |

Both project licenses permit redistribution, modifications and commercial use,
subject to their terms. Open access to sources does not prevent an optional paid
ebook edition or voluntary support. Distribute the applicable license notices
with copies. Cite the author and license when adapting content; retain the MIT
copyright and permission notice with code copies.

Dependencies such as Nginx, Vector, Python, PostgreSQL and Go are installed
separately and keep their upstream licenses. Linked vendor documentation is not
relicensed by this project. Product names remain their owners' identifiers;
this project does not imply vendor endorsement. The CC grant does not grant
trademark rights, and brand-style recommendations are not license restrictions.

The included Claude Code archive is a licensed distribution of the earlier
implementation prompt pack; prompts and runtime behavior are unchanged. Its
checksums were regenerated after adding license and attribution files.
